Lit Cargo

Sometime it's nice to miss what you are waiting for?

Underway chasing the horizon passing diamonds on the way Floating along safe in a steel palace painted battleship grey Smoking lamp lit mostly it's not drilling and counting moving cargo about Looking at warships designed to go in harms way Me just on a target just trying to stay out of the way We di our jobs and had some laughs always kept a wary eye never fired a shot nor provoked a glance just floated on the waves We were warriors fighting a war that wasn't oh so hot so we just held our breaths contemplating what if We knew that we would have no home-port to return If Trinity was called This is for those that waited and served crossed fingered on the wall Thank you for any coments L21 should be "what if " removed "first shot" instead

  10. You were trained and ready; that's what an armed force is. You described the camaraderie as well as any I've seen - and the anxiety of not knowing from one day to the next, or one hour.

  14. Reminds me of the Merchant Marine - delivering goods (in war zones) - arms being minimal - due to the demand on space. ♥ http://www.dvrbs.com/monuments/camden/CamdenMMbacktosea.jpg
