international Shipping?

I wan to buy some clothing from another country and I understand that the shipping cost is by weight. However, when I see the estimated weight of the item, it's about 0.8kg. This can't only consist of the weight of the clothing as it's too heavy. So, just how does the shipping and weighting of items works. Thanks.

1. I had a shipping business for 21 years. Every reliable catalog and website has shipping and handling rate. These rates when you do research are vary close to the same charges. *I believe what you are seeing is they are weighting the clothing in the shipping box. If this out of the county site your buying from is legitimate and had been around for awhile then your most likely OK. If not they are making money on the shipping which is "very common". They can do just about anything to make money including adding a couple of rocks to your box while on the scale. I would weight the box when you receive it and if it is not correct I would complain. Being that they are out of the country I think it would be difficult to receive any monies back. Be Safe....
